Child safety standards
Last updated July 21, 2026
Our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), covering prevention, reporting, enforcement, and how to reach our child safety team.
Zero tolerance
Venera has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms, solicits, exploits, endangers, or trafficks a minor is strictly prohibited on Venera — with no exception, no warning, and no second chance.
Accounts found engaging in this behaviour are permanently banned, their content is preserved for investigation, and the case is reported to the appropriate authorities.
What is prohibited
The following are banned on Venera without exception:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — images, video, links, drawings, or computer-generated and AI-generated depictions.
- Sexualising a minor in text, imagery, usernames, profile details, or messages.
- Grooming — building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes, including sexualised conversation, requests for images, or attempts to move a minor to another platform or to meet offline.
- Sextortion — threatening to share a minor’s intimate imagery in order to obtain money, more imagery, or any other benefit.
- Trafficking, advertising, soliciting, or arranging the sexual exploitation of a minor.
- Sharing, requesting, or promoting the personal or location information of a minor for exploitative purposes.
- Using Venera while under the minimum age, or helping a minor create or use an account.
Minimum age
Venera is intended for adults. Users must be 18 years or older to create an account, and our Terms and Conditions prohibit anyone under that age from using the service.
If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we remove the account and delete its data. If you believe a Venera user is under 18, please report it using the steps below.
How we prevent abuse
- Consent-gated contact. Users cannot message each other freely — a conversation only opens after both people connect through a mutual signal or match, which limits unsolicited contact from strangers.
- Reporting on every surface. Every profile and every chat carries a report action with a dedicated child safety category, so a concern can be raised in a few taps.
- Blocking. Any user can block another user immediately, which removes the match and prevents further contact or discovery.
- Human review. Child safety reports are routed to the top of our moderation queue and reviewed by a person, not only by automated systems.
- Enforcement across accounts. When we ban an account for CSAE, we act to prevent the same person from returning under a new account.
How to report a child safety concern in the app
Anyone can report a user directly from Venera. Reports are confidential — the person you report is never told who reported them.
- Open Connections and go to Signals or Matches.
- Tap the three-dot menu on the user — or open the chat and tap their username at the top.
- Choose Report.
- Select Child safety concern as the reason.
- Add any detail that helps us investigate, then tap Submit.
You can also block the user from the same menu. Blocking does not cancel your report.
Reporting outside the app
If you cannot use the in-app flow, or you need to reach us directly, email our child safety team at helloo.venera@gmail.com with the subject line Child safety. Include the username involved and a description of what happened.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline or to the child protection hotline in your country.
What happens after a report
- The report is queued as highest priority and reviewed by our moderation team.
- While it is reviewed, we may restrict the reported account to prevent further harm.
- If the report is confirmed, the account is permanently banned and the offending content is removed.
- Relevant evidence is preserved and, where required or appropriate, referred to NCMEC and to law enforcement.
We cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement and child protection agencies, and we comply with applicable reporting obligations in the jurisdictions where we operate.
